The worst 4 letter word- not allowed in our house!
I can't (gasp 😲 I just said it!) not share my thoughts on this word!
But really. Every time someone says that word, I cringe now. Everyone in our household is trained to catch others when they use the swear word "can't". We're all still working on keeping it clean, but once in a while, we'll forget. If we do, someone, if not ourselves will catch us and get us back on track.
Listen to how horrible that word is!
I can't tie my [shoe] [mow the lawn] [do the dishes].
I can't understand why you act like that.
I can't figure out how to do this.
I can't believe it!
It is absolutely untrue. Of course you can! Maybe not now. Maybe not yet. But in time, we can learn to do anything. Even things our small but growing human understanding can't yet grasp. We can make time for anything important. Here's how we fix those sentences when they come blurting out of our mouths:
I can't tie my [shoe] [mow the lawn] [do the dishes] [yet, but I'm excited to learn] or [right now, but will do it at 7 when I finish what I'm doing].
I can't understand why you act like that but I'd like to find out so I can help you.
I can't figure out how to do this but I know I'll find out on [google] [YouTube] [in a book I will check out from the library] [when I ask my teacher].
I can't believe it! Well actually that is quite amazing. I wonder if that could possibly be true? I think I'll do some research and find out the truth.
Why is using this horrible word such a problem?
It impedes your progress to grow or move forward- it keeps you stagnant. And in my understanding of spirituality, that is not a place we want to be. We want growth, improvement and positive movement right?
I believe in God, and that He is the father of our spirits.
Psalm 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
